for Madelaine McCann...
Her safety Lord, with loving care,
I place into your hands.
For innocence so young and pure,
is why my heart aches so.
Why in her bed she's not secure?
Is this I need to know.
Like sleeping beauty, there she slept,
with all her childlike charm...
Then through her window, evil crept,
and stole her in his arms.
You bastardly creep, you coward in disguise...
Is for your soul, that now I pray...an unfortunate demise:
Satan in all your evil, please reserve a room...
full of hell fire and fury, for this bastard's eternal doom!
And for the parents, I also pray
your angels safe return,
I shall not judge, yet this I say...
"is why we live and learn!"
Dear Amelie and Sean, and for the grandparents too,
though Maddie is away, her heart is still with you.
You mustn't give up hope, her memory keep alive,
for faith, love and hope...will help us all survive.
And to Portugal authorities, this is what I say...
Pray the Lord to guide you, and let him lead the way.
This mystery, he'll unravel, identity be revealed...
Swift justice you should render, for his fate's already sealed!
Thus, my prayer for Maddie,
I've hidden in my heart.
"Keep mama and daddy,
safe Oh Lord, for me,
while we're apart"!
Amen...
Author notes
I pray the safe return of this beautiful child,
and for whatever evil lurking behind this story,
all will be revealed.

Thank you for this emotional prayer, and expressing the anger we all feel for the evil of the scum that took her. My heart goes out to her parents, and for the safety of their precious young daughter...I pray hard that God is looking after her and that all our prayers are loud enough...
I feel moved by your poem, thank you for showing that you care

Thankyou for adding another prayer in the prayer chain that traverses the world for 4 year old Maddy Mcann, taken from her bed whilst on holiday with her parents in Portugal by a predator and still missing weeks and weeks after her abduction just before her fourth Birthday.Thankyou for taking the time to use your creativity to share how much you care.I echo every sentiment expressed,I was shocked by the comment left they were glad you didn't write a mawkish write from Maddy's point of view, dear God in heaven, anyone who could get into the mindframe of a powerless child, abducted by a predator in a foreign land ( Maddy is English) would truly know what dark meant,I have prayed every day for this child to be returned and released from lord knows what and for her parents to have peace of mind, yes, yes, yes they made a mistake leaving the children unsupervized for twenty minutes but the blame musn't be allowed to obscure the reality,if the predator hadn't abducted her she would be home with her family. This poem cannot be critiqued.A prayer cannot be critiqued, all we may do and should do is add our prayers for 4 year old Maddy Mcann to be found, please excuse the lenghy reply,I feel so strongly about her situation and saddened beyond words,it is at times like this that we realize there are not enough tools in the tool box,not to find the words needed nor to fix society,I would willingly hang the predator from the nearest tree,I care not what his reason was there is never an acceptable excuse for child abuse, hang him and hang him high, don't even waste electricity by electrocuting him.

My dear, I understand your anger, but you mustn't judge someone before their time. This man who has kidnapped this Madeleine, God has a purpose even for him. Do not deny him the dignity that all humans are allowed in the ability to change, to become better. We are all horrible at heart. But we are all also beautiful at heart.
And trust me when I say that even this horrible tragedy has a purpose too. It will, if you are willing to let it, make everyone who it has touched more the beautiful people that God intends.
He must hollow us out sometimes with much sorrow so that there will be room later for great joy.
I suggest reading some things by Kahlil Gibran. His words always give me peace.
Take care, and I pray for you and for Madeleine.

Very good poetry.
Hello SASSY,
This was a very nice prayer accepting GOD'S will. All will end according tro the will of God. NOTHING WITHOUT REASON, let thy will be done.
Your old friend:
"BOO"

Aw. This almost made me cry. Very well done; I think we're all praying for the same things.

For this little one to have such a beautiful prayer written for it must be an amazing child. Thank you, for showing that humanity still does care for each other and what happens in others lives. Well done poet! Peace, JT

Oh for a child all gloves are off
To find the person with such evil in their hearts should be laid out for the world to do as they will every minute of the day until he passes on for there is no punishment too severe -
this is such a beautiful prayer... how kind of you to write such a beautiful piece of hope here for maddys family... and yes we all live an learn....sometimes the hard way sometimes the easy way....

-
amazing write
very nice work i sure hope who ever took this lil one is caught and punished . great job sweetie and goodluck in the contest
-
A lovely prayer, so heartfelt and sincere. Liked the flow, the message shared and the emotions it raises as one reads through the lines. Sentiments well expressed, easy to read and understand.
-
again, you write well, the basics of your writing are really good, they read well, and that is something you can't always say for this site.
It was interesting write, because you avoided some mawkish piece written from the girl's perspective, you widened the poetry net and wrote a far deeper and more rounded piece.
Very well put and heartfelt.

I am not sure that I have heard
the story of this little girl.
I do hope and pray that she is
safe and sound wherever she may be
and whoever she is with. It's a very
terrible thought and feeling when
something like this happens to your
child.
Great work here and best of luck
to you with this in the contest!
Keep up the great work here!

Wow this is powerful stuff, I have to say this is a shocking story and you've penned this very well.
Like sleeping beauty, there she slept,
with all her childlike charm...
Then through her window, evil crept,
and stole her in his arms.
Were my favourite lines...
Unfortunately it has been so long, I cannot see the authorities finding her alive...and what upsets me is this MUST happen to so many people yet this case has gained so much more press coverage than most, it makes me think, what about the others who haven't even got our support? Anyway, very well written, I'm sure the contest holder will love this

Thanks
for your comments. I have had this contest bookmarked for a while, but because of my anger and personal bias as to how this happened, I was waiting for the right mood to write it, so as not to offend anyone with my thoughts or words..
