In the dark of night after a rough day.
A very strange thing happened to me.
The hair on the back of my neck stood up.
The skin there grew up tight.
I wanted to scream and duck out of sight.
The wind was blowing so cold that night.
It went through you like a knife.
There are no lights, just a shadow on the wall.
And the eerie only seemed to grow.
If the floor would open up I would be first to go.
I could be swollowed up whole.
Time only made me feel I was growing old.
Then I hear a creek on the floor.
What did life have for me in store?
I am afraid, I feel my hair is turning white.
Ever the sir in my chest will not move.
Do I breath out, or is it time to breath out?
My eyes are so squinted I can hardly see,OH My!
Now there are two blinking lights casting, red again and again.
I lower the blankets a little bit more to see!
There is a light shining in the hall now!
My body is still shaking at what has happened .
Oh! thestorm is over for the night.
And the power has beed restored again.
The clock is a blinking in the dark of my room.
The light I must have left on in the hall.
The TV was on, the last thing I remember on a timer.
How you van be disoriented in the night.
When we loose things we take for granted.
Trying to re-a just can be a job.
