A life in tatters no lower to fall
as once full of hope the world an oyster,
so much to offer in purity of spirit
but seen a threat in a world that competes.
Too honourable and therefore a menace
in this place of darkness destruction meted out,
chains of friendships and family bonds
discarded without respect by pitying eyes.
But strength of character is often reviled
shunned an outcast by condemning glance of disgust,
step on over this destitute nobody
as looks of supremacy are blinded to integrity.
In trolleys and cartons dwells a life once young and hopeful
take time to view the riches within,
a resonant heart is alive and wealthy
with wisdom of ages we foolishly ignore.
Be humble in recognition of equal creation
as you judge so you will also be guaged,
in memory recall so much you can offer
discerning that all who are here have their worth.

It is a sad refection that most of us come with pre defined thoughts on why these people are in the situation they are in.In some cases we may be right. To place everyone under the same blanket is where we fall down. Many are there though no fault of their own A well written piece Good luck in the contest
