Apparition

Hollow lullabies,
null me to my own sleepless nights,
clutching to my pillow,
as the world revolves around me.

beautiful incantations,
as you speak my name,
twirling stars,
swirling crested waves.

dare tell dear love...

Chorus:
if pain were only my escape,
maybe,
maybe we could run away..
oh maybe baby,
we could run away.

torn between myself and you,
must I choose with fate?
Can I really be strong,
and turn away from all of this.

dare tell dear love...

Chorus:

lies!
all these lies they've told me,
I was a lifeless corpse,
exhumed from the ground.
Yet,
you somehow found the heart inside of me.
please hunny,
hold me one last time,
before you depart my mind...

let this die dear love!!!

Chorus: X 2

if only baby,
if only,
maybe we could run away.
one last time,
hold my hand,
I fear the cold beseeched in me.

I agree...it does ring a bit of Evanescence. They area good group.

This is a great write and It definitely shows an amazing passion.

The chorus is really great and I love how you used the word "incantations." That is a favorite word of mine.

    Thanks for entering.

This reminds me of Anywhere (the older Evanescence song). Just the so many hints about running away and leaving it all behind. I have the hardest time telling if your poems are an inspiration from an outside source or an inspiration from what you're really feeling. Because the ideas are so realistic but the way they are portrayed is amazing. It's almost unrealistic, but yet it's a natural idea...I'm having a hard time wording this lol, but hopefully you see my point. Very well written.
