John sent to Christ asking if he was the One and not a wrong?
Christ declared “blessed is he that is not offended in me!”
“You go tell John that the lame walk and the blind now see.”
There comes a time of temptation for all who believe or not.
Most followed Christ, being filled, for the fishes brought.
What a revelation you would need of this Mighty Redeemer,
If you were to 'hold-true' facing Death and hell’s Blasphemer.
Those who love Christ 'THE WORD' aren’t so easily offended.
Life, love, and war (on the positive) Saints have apprehended.
Believers are Love-bound Slaves of Christ, to the Spirit’s Letter.
They that are the least, in the Kingdom, are humbly made better.
Author notes
Let’s look at the words of Jesus when He told John the Baptist’s disciples the answer to John’s question. “Blessed is he whosoever shall not be offended in me.” Matthew 11:6 Was John offended by the actions of Jesus? It is clear that John was offended. If John was not offended, John would have never asked Jesus, “ are you the messiah.” The word “offended” is used not in a hatred sense, but it is used as failing to meet the individual’s requirements when choosing or selecting or accepting. For example, some people like to eat bananas that have some bruising, and other people will not eat a banana that has one bruise. So the people that will not eat a banana that is bruised are offended by the bruised banana. Do all the words of Jesus make your heart sing? Or do some of the words and commands of Jesus offend you? http://www.thedoctrineofchrist.org/text/teachings/JohnTheBaptist.html
