Looks are deceiving that is for sure,
this isn't back roads North Carolina I know.
Women have it much harder, especially in combat,
we just have to take it and go with the flow.
We are just as good as any other solider,
most times we can think faster than they can.
Try to get along and always proving ourselves,
just like we've had to do since this world began.
Here in a strange country so far from home,
emotions aren't something we can afford.
However to survive we need to have a release,
fear, homesickness, and loneliness can't be ignored.
Letters from home, and from people I don't know,
help to get all of us through another day.
Knowing that we are remembered and appreciated,
assists in taking some of the badness away.
I am one woman of many sent here to do a job,
and I will do it to the best of my ability.
Not only am I here for all of those back home,
but so that all can be un-oppressed and free.

Another incredible write my dear friend. Written as only you can do. Great emotion and insight. Visual and complete. Lessons taught and minds forged. Taking one on the journey of both war and life. Inside and outside of the service. Reminding others to never forget...even if they dont know anyone, a letter from one of us might just provide them with comfort. It is after all them who keeps us safe allowing us the comfort of our freedom. Bravo, my hat off to you.

You say it so well hun but you know what stands out for me the letters from strangers showing appreciation and understanding all too often these feelings of respect are lost. Yes i am against wars and conflicts but never have i lost the respect for those who are there taking it hard. They do not make the decision to go to war those who do sit in comfortable offices safe far away from the frontline...way to go hun...got that good bad girl feeling a pleasure to read quality work that is your trademark. good luck in the contest

It's amazing how the world comes
together and expresses their heartfelt
gratitude and love to complete strangers.
Strangers who we later in life learn to
appreciate and love because of their strong
will and commitment to our country. The
letters written and sent out not only bring
happiness and love, but reassurance that
they are appreciated in more ways than they
could ever know. It is so important to
remember our soldiers and keep them in our
hearts and prayers.
Thank you very much for your entry here.
I really enjoyed reading this piece from
you and wish you the best of luck with it
in my contest! Keep up the wonderful work
here!
