Ahava

Always the friend never the lover
Why does love elude me?
When it comes, I run
It has been gone for so long
Do unto others they say
So I do
They simply forget they must now do so unto me
Where is love
Will I ever know the pleasure of being held in my love’s arms?
Of embracing back?
Will I never be the one to have a kiss in the morning?
Am I barred from love in this world?
Is it wrong for me to long for love when I see it all around me and am left alone
Yet could it ever be?
Could there ever be anyone out there who could love me fully and completely?
Love every flaw and facet?
Could I bear my soul and they would bear theirs and there be only love?
Is this the dream of the loveless or could reality be so kind?
Would …
Could…
I am human and flawed and weak, forgive this lowly heart
Forgive this frail soul
This pathetic spirit
And never spare a glance for me.
I am smoke and mirrors
A mirage of nothing
There is no me
Only the wish for you
Sweet Ahava

hehehe. weren't you just complaining about the influx of sad poems?
"could I bear my soul" should be: "could I bare my soul"
I like the idea of that word, but I don't know if you did it justice.

I doubt that I'll find someone who has done that word justice with a poem.
