My Child

In Celebration of the Life of James Neil Young November 27,1979

For all but a child, the connection of love comes to you.
Love that cannot be seen but only felt as it surrounds.
A human bond that oft' times disconnects and the hole that's left,
though the time be long, will mend.

Love for your child comes deep within.
A love that wells up from the core of your soul.
There is no force within or without that can break the bond.
And a loss no time can mend.

The tears will flow for years to come until;
there are no more tears to flow.
There are no measures to weigh against;
Your mother, your father, or friend.
It is a sorrow immeasurable
and a sorrow without end.

Yet, Comfort comes in the Happiness brought;
by the life of my child within me.
Happiness seen in the first smile, word, and step.
A smile melting the pain of any day away.
A love lighting my life without end.

It is our souls that are connected like twinkling
strands of light.
Earth bound or transcended, the connection of souls
extends from God, a bond no force can break.
It is my soul and my child's soul that will forever be bonded.
For we are one, and I will hold him until all time ends.skye2007

    On Miscarriage

    This one hit me really hard because your son would have possibly been one of my classmates. That brought it all home for me again. Maybe he is still with you. A woman I did not know walked up to me and told me that my daughter was one of my guardians and that she would return to me. I stood there with my mouth open, crying. How did she know? I'm telling you this in the hopes that perhaps you will also come to see that our lost ones really are with us and can return to us. I hope I did not offend.
    Blessed Be,
    ***Rae***

    I am very sorry about your son. As devastating as a miscarriage is, a still birth is even worse. To have carried a life that far, to be all ready for it, and then to have it cancelled- it's just tragic.

    There are no words!

    Reading this made me break down in tears. All the while that I read your lovely poem I was thinking how wonderful that you have this love. Then to read your child was stillborn; yet your spirituality and that bond lives on. I am so very moved.

    I lost a child once too. I was so happy that she was within me, and then she was gone. Nothing can describe that emptiness. Yet, she lives on; we are together; I know it - just as you know that you are bonded forever with your son.

    Thank you my dear for sharing this with us. It is so very moving! Karen

    What an amazing write of unconditional love. Yes we never forget our children they will always be in our hearts and minds. I have never lost a child to death, but I have fours sons who do not talk to me and have not for many years now, I know how missing your children is and my heart goes out to you. I know your little angel is smiling down from Heaven and watching over his mommy. Have a blessed day, hugs Theresa

    Wow, very beautiful. You've captured the bond between a parent and their child perfectly. Even while they wait in heaven, that bond is not broken. Very nice, thank you for sharing this piece with me.

    What a wonderful way to write about his bon between parent and child - that unconditional love that a parent has for her child is always there - good flow and lovely sentiments expressed so well in these lines.

    Wow

    My mom always tells me this (though not as poetic as you did). The bond between parent and child is unbreakable and the strongest on earth! I think I'm gonna read this to her It's very nicely written, and I love the lines:
    "Love for your child comes deep within.
    A love that wells up from the core of your soul."
    Beautiful!
