Waiting Ashore - Silver

Missing image
My sister loves ocean froth
she sings to whales
dolphins
and perhaps goddesses curling in coral

for she is used to sharp hard places

and salt water

yes, yes,  she has cried those kinds of tears

that cause floods, tsunamis

great high waterfalls flinging themselves
off cliffs so high, it would take an eagle
to arc to top

oh, yes, she knows this

once she left on fins of giant fish
rode wild waves,
with him
found herself caught
in fierce need to disengage from hook

Oh, yes, I would have run aground as well

We batter ourselves, leaving silver sheen
Where we have beaten ourselves
against grainy thoughts
and life that will swallow us whole
as it was meant to

She will remember moon-kissing arch of freedom
once she has rested, from little heart flutters
like show there is signs of life

She is washed ashore just now
waiting for a new tide
to cradle her causes
for deep-sea diving

Ahhh, this is a lovely, sorrowful, joyful penning, my Sister...& yes, we do batter ourselves for the cause of Love...but it is also Love that heals those scrapings...Good luck in the contest, Sweetie... Wanda
