He had a father.
THEY abandoned HIM,
it wasn't HIS fault.
The beginning,
in a series of events.
that would shape,
and seal his future.
Drugs.
Poverty.
Getting high.
But living so low.
He now walks the streets,
Sleeping in garbage cans,
in the slums and alley-ways.
The masses eye him,
instantly slapping on,
a FUCKING LABEL.
Dirty,
Nasty,
Trashy,
No Good,
Failure.
Mothers tell their children,
to stay away.
Acting as if hes criminal.
But they do not know him,
The kindest of men,
the feeblest of souls.
A human,
like us.
Should be treated no different.
For it wasn't HIS fault,
that HIS life took an alternate path.
While we ridicule,
and laugh.
He MOURNS,
and HURTS.
Aching on the inside.
An everyday occurrence to him.
Begging and pleading,
but no one takes pity.
The masses are heartless,
they have no feelings.
Only caring about themselves,
and their "oh so precious" lives.
Counting meager change,
as the sun slips low.
He sulks in his alley-way turned home.
And thanks God for giving him,
this precious gift of life.
Author notes
Another poem, for the homeless. It hurts to write this, because i know somewhere in this damned world, this very thing is happening to a person, that doesn't deserve it. If anybody deserves it, it is Society as a whole. All of us, because we all do the things mentioned in this poem. In one way, shape or fashion.
Hope you enjoyed.
*inspired when i was writing the Author's Notes for "The Aging Man. Who Lives Under the Bridge."

Deeply Penned!
I concure with you on this poem here Class about how society as a whole deserves to be homeless and anyways as far as the everyday occurence going for hoimeless people its brutally sad that things happen to them like that. In my own opinion I really like this poem alot. you really penned yourself beautifully through out this poem and your heart really went into this. I really like the message you are sending and to me that shows you have a big heart and care about the less fortunate people. Excellent work and keep on penning away because this is as deep as they come

Thanks for taking the time to read.
I just dont think its fair.
We, as the "normal, average, middle class" people in society, get so caught up, in the daily drama of our lives. And the things we get caught up in are so small, and we complain, and some of us even learn to hate life. When in reality, no matter what is happening to us, somebody somewhere has it worse. And that just hurts, to know that.
