Failing Humanity

They just sit over subways
waiting for the bus,
reading fragments of verse
plastered onto glass,
with a forehead crimson bleeding
out deep thoughts
profoundly on asphalt.

Just waiting to be shot,
breath ended with a blow
sudden and dramatic
and a skateboard flipping over.

This is very interesting. I love the last three lines of the first stanza. They hold more than what meets the eye and that is what I'm looking for. Thank you for entering. Luck!

thanks for d comment; well since the point of this contest is to provide an original piece of work to titles already given I tried to put the "decadent" title into perspective and tackled teenager and student life in relation to the title in order to break the cliches and create that atmosphere of failure - I was kind of inspired by The Who's "Teenage Wasteland" : there are so many young people with so much potential who just throw it all away

The poem is so different from the tittle. And the ending is dramatically surprising. I hope you win.
