We look through cracks and broken glass,
We swim through glue but never stick
Onto the slightest hint of regret.
Reapplying lipstick will never be the same
Avoiding humiliation scarred our love;
I've purchased a box of cellotape.
The doctor prescribed Mylanta,
But I had another cure in mind.
Why abandon ship when you're
A phone call away from Mr. Wordie?
A steady bass line with wavering lead,
A dying clock with battery in hand.
It takes years to learn the guitar,
And time to create electricity.
Be in my band.
Be my battery.
