yes i think that we all do. Its only human thought. I love the way so much is said in this line. Disappointment and more. But remember in order to fail, you must of at least tried in the 1st place

Lovely, depressing, and yet...there's rather an edge of hope. The fact that you're still trying is that hope, and helps the emotion of the poem by almost saying that not everything is lost yet. The lack of a title is witty, by the way. Best of luck to you!

A depressing thought, but I hype myself up saying that someone else in this world has to have screwed up worse than me.

It is a bit depressing, but I don't really view my life in a sad way. I think trying is really more the point than achieving, for, as you say, so many have tried and failed much worse then myself. But how can you look down on someone that has tried? And so often, its not your fault that you didnt succeed, but rather this world that gets in your way, and in that case, as long as you have done all in your power, there is no shame to bear.

Oh I make my own mistakes too that teach me what never to do again. Never eat this or do this and this happens, but there are times when I feel like hell and the only way I feel better is by saying somewhere someone is getting slapped or not winning the lottery like millions of others or someone's suffering a hangover. I'm an odd person.

same here. it's very discouraging to do that as well. maybe we need to set our standards lower, and to refine what success means. maybe trying, or the intention of trying, is what matters (or should matter)? i hope you'll make a title for this, as i'd be interested in what you name it. actually, maybe not having a title could mean that you can't think of one... as in, you've tried to find one, but fail to think of one that says what you want it to say. so, even the title could reflect this powerful line of yours.

Ahh well done for noticing the lack of title related to the actual poem! I really thought that that was just a little thing that no one would notice save myself! smooth moves!
I completly belive that trying is the most important thing, much more so than achieving. It is that hope and desire that makes us who we are. so no matter the failings, I will continue to try!
