I look upon the face of hope
and eyes that speak with fire;
see the love that tries to heal
wounds in the heart of the world.
For have people not stood
too long in strong Sun that bakes the outback?
Have we not drunk too much of the most heady
lagers?
Have we not lost our way to see the Stars
that hang like precious pearls in the night over Africa?
I know her, she has a heart with the
Size of a Woman;
a broad back carrying us from chaos;
I know her from the Roar of Lions
standing with wet ground at her feet.
She knows a life pro bono- for the good of all-
is a path so difficult to walk,
and yet she travels with the grace of Anna
finding her King, and happiness reflected
from the good within- oh, a great blessing.
Cannons fired in anger over the indignity
to people, and the fires burn brighter still
in callous winds of ignorance and neglect;
yearned always the simple hearth of love.
And has She found the alluring stranger
in the crowded Café as life;
magnetic pull of like bodies,
I hear it now, and it warms my smile:
the Cannons song of joy.

She's gonna love this. I love the clever use of her name in this, excellent tribute to such a warm-hearted, and socially conscious woman.

I am glad the box of tissues is at hand, for in this you paint a woman of strength and will, for at this moment I seem to have lost that control as I read. I never feel I do any more or any less than the next person would do; if that is what their heart chooses for them. I am humbled and blessed to have you as a friend. Thank you so much dear poet.
Love, Chez

A Tribute in Words of Wisdom
for you know her so well, just as I. She is a tower
among females opening her heart to the world. It was amazing reading her accounts about the journey into Africa...Excellent write, wonderful read......novy
