Applause fills my eyes and ears
The bright light pushes my eyelids shut
To block a rushing stream of tears
The missing puzzle piece
A missing seat amongst the crowd
For the first time in a time of many
Silence has never been so loud
I used up my three wishes
I prayed till I could no longer speak
Here I am having the time of my life
And you’re in eternal sleep
Is it true that you can hear me?
Is it true you watch my every move?
You seemed so long a winner
But it was time for you to lose
I’m scared to think I know
Exactly what you’d think of them
She has the voice of angels
You’re so lucky to have him
Upon this illuminated platform
Silence fills my eyes and ears
The bright light pushes my eyelids open
It’s your voice that I hear
Author notes
" I send out a prayer for those left behind"
So this year I joined a club that changed my life. I joined drama, became the only freshman on the cast of the fall play, and made a lifetime of memories. I stood apon the stage, taking my final bow, only knowing that sadly my grandmother had died about 2 weeks prior to the play. I wish she could have seen my change my life, and get to know the wonderful people I call my friends.

This is heartwrenching. I am soooo sorry for your loss. I lost my grandmother in '86, and it is hard. I can soooo relate! She missed meeting her great grand children by a short time..... I hope you are dealing with it ok. If you ever want to talk, look me up. Best of luck in the contest that we are both entered in.
