It’s strew in bright splashes of paint across the walls,
the door, the carpet, and the ceiling as well.
The Barbie doll house, house accessories, the Barbie doll corvette,
not to mention the fifty Barbie dolls that are lined up on the shelf.
A bean bag is overflowing with stuffed bears
of different shades of the same color.
Yet the tea party table, the tea party chairs,
the tea party cups and saucers and pot
are all the same delicate pale.
The dresses lining the closet,
are a frilly menagerie;
the soft cotton of the canopy,
the comforter, the flowers, the pillows piled high,
all in five different shades.
A vanity sits besides the tea party table
(guess what color it is?!)
a little touch of pink.
