that left first
but I carry you with me
in my heart,

    Congrats on your gold! Sorry it's taken me so long to comment. I really love this-obviously, or it wouldn't have placed first. I'm not sure what exactly makes me love it. I just do, especially the last stanza. Congrats again,

    Liked the brevity of the lines in this poem, the flow and the message you share - makes on feel the sadness of not being together any more, the regret and the loneliness. Easy to read and understand the sentiment you express so well in these lines.
