This is not tight-eyed dream,
but loose-lid
scheme
to keep you closer than is best;
deeply shrouded in my
rest.
I have a way of seeing you
in lash-quick rubbing off of prism’d
dew,
so I can cling to what is my Bliss.
There is no greater wish than
this:
that you could come and touch mine eyes,
shucking off madness’
disguise,
to stand in front of me, whole and well
unleashed from what must be your
hell …
and mine, dear heart, for I am wont
to wait completely hungered, paled,
gaunt,
with daydreams of your swift return
and be given option to
relearn
that beautiful face and heartful hands,
Californian locks with sun-drenched
strands,
body slick and skin and bone
I loved to trace with tense and
tone
of love’s deep and sensual growl.
No hum, now, nor ever
howl,
for if I reached to hold you now
I’d break a chaste and holy
Vow.
I have given my own hand to someone new
who loves me as I wished from
you.
Within, then, swift moment’s sorrow
do I remember there is, yet,
tomorrow.
I close my eyes to see
I do not lose your
Memory,
that I might recognize your face
when we meet, again on altered
space.

Sighhh...How well I know these jagged edges of Beauty...Eloquent within your anguish, my Sister...One day, we will all be whole...& holy...Good luck in the contest, my dear Friend...

sometimes I dislike that we have this kind of anguish... but..it makes me remember that ..."once upon a time......"

This made me want to cry. So many similarities...I am a California girl..."I have given my own hand to someone new who loves me as I wished from you." So sad for whoever lost you. This is beautiful. Thanks for the entry.

ty mary. He shows up in my poetry, often...although we get through it, it does not mean we get over it.
