Words that whorl and ring --
solid oak, fill the lips, acorn promise
call the spirit to sing the phrases
let each sense come be excited.
She is a sea called magic
fecund with dreams, bright
flashing silver darting breaths of light
corruscating her waters.
She changes the lines of the shore
with storms of feeling,
secretly erases traces, blossoms memories
by caressing waves with love.
She is poetess, silkie
dancing on the shore to a chorus of words
becoming ebon' wood, a library
to cherish all the wonder, words written.
The night's sweet feathered moon
bright buds of light blossom from waves
songs grown in the heart, set free to fly --
she abides, at times in my heart, my friend, Wanda.

You do the dear Lady much honor with your words, a gentle ripple that can be a tidal wave of passion and swell when she pens a piece. She will so admire this from your pen
Love, C

Thank you. She does admire it. She has commented already.
She is and hopefully always will be one of my friends. I was sure I wasn't going to get this written and it saddened me. I found a solution. Plus I was blessed to see how to open the right door to get to this one. Love, Tom B.

In norse legend silkies were creatures of the sea who came to shore and shed their seal skins to dance and delight in the form of being woman. There are many tales of these magical creatures falling in love or being loved but always being called to return to their well loved home.
Thanks for all the blessings. May your day be gifted with special joys and peace. Love Tom B.

Indeed our dear Wanda is; "fecund with dreams, bright". Her creativity is forceful and to be reckoned with by all. Love the use of "silkie" to describe her smoothness.
This is so very lovely as is my sister/friend. She touches all those she encounters with the soft "feather" of love. She is a gracious one! This is a grand tribute and quite befitting. Kudos! You have immortalized this "poetess" forevermore. Very beautiful Tom. You have such a huge heart and I love you even more for what you do for others.
Always ♥
Renee

Thanks for sharing your pleasure and joy. She has been my friend for awhile. What kind of friend would I be if I did not celebrate her when given the opportunity. Thanks for all your love. We are as we share and I would hate to be small in the gifts I have been given. Love, Tom B.

You are too kind. This was just a simple effort to share the joy and love I have found in knowing Wanda. We would all be blessed to have more like her in our lives.

Whoaaa, Tom. This is a beautiful penning, my Friend...& for ME???
I am completely honored, Poet...Such exquisite phrasing throughout this piece...I'm pleased you think I phrased anything in this manner; also a bit flabbergasted by the thought.
Well, for "having difficulty writing" this one, ya sure came through with flying colors, Sweetie...Thank you so much...Good luck in Sie's contest...You flatter me quite well, Suh....

I cheated a bit. I read about six of Nerudas one hundred love sonnets to get myself in the right mood. The rest? Well, I have been reading your poems steadily for the last year of so and you have been a great help in editing a few of mine. It was easy once I found the first lines. Always my greatest hurdle.
That it pleases you and brings joy to your heart. That is far more reward than I could ask for.
Love, Tom B.

A nice reflection here
so very nice in a tribute, the use of some of her signature phrasings and metaphors: the altered shoreline, the waves, the sea so well done and reflective of the appreciation of her works. Thank you for this fine entry into the contest and best of luck in the judging...PK

Thanks. I wasn't sure I would get something written so this is a blessing. Glad you picked up on the devices I used to show praise and love with out getting too sugary.
Love, Tom B.
