The heart can be healed
but where there's a scar
it shouldn't be stretched
too long or too far.
My heart was all yours
you broke it in two
we pieced it together
but if only we knew.
How fragile a heart is
and how the pain lasts
it holds all the future
but also our past.
We got through it once
and we got through it twice
but now we've found out
healing comes with a price.
Whoever I was
has been rearranged
a heart that's been healed
has also been changed.
My heart once so strong
was left with no choice
so leave it alone
or hear its new voice.

It might sound simplistic, but this cuts to the core of what betrayal did to me.
