Beloved Aunt

You were the sun
and the blush of your cheeks
was never so pure.

You made-
being a saint

beautiful.

The crystal in your eyes
smiled,
and you knew

before it happened.

I'll always remember
those final smiles,
the first ones,

and the frowns,
never found
in between.

Please tell me what you think

    Yes, do remember the smiles...

Your beautiful angel aunt smiles and you can be sure she is smiling at you. A lovely poem, Shirley!

We are so often touched by family. Each person being a special ingredient in who we are. Thank you for so lovingly sharing your memories of your Aunt. It is a stain glass image on/to your soul. Love, Tom B.

    A loving, brilliant poem!

My favorite part of this poem is the smiles with no frowns in between. That is so telling of a very special aunt. You are a fine niece to her and she is smiling down from Heaven because that bond never ends.
