I’ve been Higher, than Mount Everest
While being trapped, in the pits of Hell
I thought, I ruled my Surroundings
But my surroundings, ruled where I dwelled
I miscontruded as though, my body was being Lifted
But in actuality, it was my spirit being Torn
I recognized early enough, that I was able to save my Soul
But for those to blind to recognize,...those I truly Mourn!
I walked amongst, the Clouds
Or so in my mind, I Thought
When in reality my feet, were firmly Planted
Planted firmly in the same old hood...is where I Walked
I would close my eyes, and deeply Inhale
In my virtual reality, life of Leisure
Upon opening my eyes, I would Realize
My reality was nothing more, than that of a complete Failure
My mind conjures, up Happy Endings
With the help, of some Influence
But reality dictates, when you open your Eyes
You’ll still be in the hell, of your own Choosing
So you can travel, as high as you Want
But know this one fact, to be True
The higher you travel, with your eyes Closed
Is the Lower, you will open them Too...
So Say Hi! to the Low Life

very bold and I love it. we all spend time in the hell of our own choosing but we really don't like to take credit for it, we like to point the blame at anything or anyone around. I am sorry to say I am sometimes guilty of pointing the blame but the truth is the truth and your poem says it all.
