Dancing Up There

I sat beside her, watching her go
When exactly she went, I’ll never know
All that matters is she’s no longer here
With the living relatives who hold her dear

She’s in a better place, yes I know
But it doesn’t make me any happier that she had to go
She’s gone, and now my tears are free
Streaking my cheeks and all the rest of me

“However”, I think as the wind blows through my hair
She’s probably laughing, singing, and dancing up there
Able to walk, able to stand up, tall and free
Peeping over the clouds, watching me

She’s with her family
So I should be happy
I should rejoice
Instead, my cheeks are moist

She’s no longer here, and it’ll never be changed
I’ve got to get my life rearranged
I laugh as the wind plays with my hair
Thinking, “She’s probably dancing up there”

awww. this was a sad poem that she's gone, but also a happy poem knowing that she's in a better place now where nothing can harm her and she can feel no pain great write. =)
