Heart's True Desire

I watch the tiny sands of time
Slipping wearily through the hourglass
Counting down the days, the week
Until the hour when mist will clear
And the truth will reveal itself
Twinkling in stars in a full moon sky
Glowing with happiness?
Or burning with shame?

Beneath the veil which hides reality
Dwells the growing dream
Escaping only in the subtle smile
The far-away glistening of my gaze
Which go unnoticed by all those ignorant
Of our wonderful secret

Blinded by the fear of the miracle
I so desperately long for
I tread the cold stone to your warm embrace
The hiding place from such a harsh world
Where agony fades to love
And sorrow turns to joy
Reflected in your eyes so pure
I see my heart’s true desire
I see myself committing myself to you
In the most unbreakable way

In this moment I hold dear
I wish for wrongs to turn to right
I pray for this strongest form of love
To only grow with time together
Into something so pure
That words could not describe
But yet, still it would become
My finest piece of poetry
