Plowing Furrows

Softly caressing the smooth surface,
gently parting the moist furrows,
I deftly insert the seed
that will blossom into life.

The moisture that feeds it,
the warmth that cocoons the babe,
will enable life to continue.

Finishing up, and wiping away the mess,
mindful of my partner,
I thank her for the assistance
that only a cat can give,

and survey my garden.

Thank you for your contest submission as well as for following the rules.(Name accept in write versus notes although I almost missed that, hehe). A wonderful take on the prompt given! I loved the little note on your gardening partner, lol I am a cat person and can relate! I so miss gardening, but ah well! Best of luck in this and all of your endeavors. Hetohke'e

Thank you for the inspiration. Sorry about the name thing; I require them at the end of a poem, and it was just natural to put it there. (Makes it easier when you use the print feature, as they are right there. ) I can change it, if you like it better in the notes.

I cannot do anything without the cats butting in. We have several and nine kittens, at present, so it is quite a parade when gardening.

      Well wishes with your judging.

LOL I know about that too, hehe. Right now we have 4 adults and 4 kits, and know the kits have to go althoughthey are adorable and one of them is certainly trying to get deep into my heart even now, dangit!ah well, it is better for them to go! At one point in life I had 18 cats/kits and a newborn! Long, funny story, hmm i should write a poem about that, lmao.
As to the name, no its fine, for I did see it, I am just used to having it in notes for my contests, lol. I find most poets prefer it there to the actual write and if I am accepting prewrites it is easier for those in contest that want the annonymity to put it there or in a reply to my comment.

Would love to working in the yard today too, but it is raining here on this long weekend. TIme to seed, to plant, to transplant, to get those pots and planters filled with bedding plants. Liked the images one gets when reading your lines.

We have had nice cool weather the last week, but it is supposed to rain this weekend. Go figure, we are camping. Ah, but the garden is in and the beans should be peeking out.

I was hoping you would get something else from the beginning.
Thank you for the comment. It is greatly appreciated.
