You sent your voice
to ride my dream,
a subtle wick to waft in willow
as indentured servant to my pillow
passing verse to rippled stream,
and I was on my raft of feather
to listen close
inside your tease of skin
to shimmer summer's breeze,
of what might be in warm, together.
Give me nerve
to know my notion
as something rising from the east
in tangerine to brush the beast
with pastel branches
waking ocean when morning moves
in limbs of candle
crossing wall to shadowed skins
in secret trills,
as love begins
to dance in wave too sweet to handle.
Listen to my heart inside you
beating word
in rhythm's fire,
kissing wet to pump desire
through swilling veins
of mountain dew,
and know how much is made forever,
in crush to crave
caress to quiver,
as welling tear seeks soul
as river,
where we are light,
so far from never.

Oh my god
This is simply amazing. I found myself reading this and the pace increased as my breath caught and I just wanted to finish the poem and breathe again...
Exquisite

That was very... peaceful, almost, and quite lovely to read. There was really a lot of feeling, and beautiful images... The last few lines (from "in crush to crave...") were especially pretty. The rhyming was great, too, not too forced. Great write!

The last line made me want to say "so far from never"..."so close to forever". Beautiful poetry - filled with soft light and warmth.
