Missing Piece

I had a map without a compass,
A lantern without oil.
You're the pice of my puzzle
I didn't know I'd lost.
I had a track without a train,
I was roofless in the rain.

You're my compass,
You're my oil.
You complete the picture.
You're my engine,
You're my shelter.
Without you I'd surely falter.

Author notes

I wrote this totally out of the blue without any kind of plan. I was hoping the spontaneousness would work with the poem.

Tell me what you think... be honest.
