If it was my last day
For life on this earth,
I'd have the usual "good byes" to say,
And one special thing to do,
That would give me much mirth.
I have always wanted to
Squeeze out a full tube of toothpaste.
I know it sounds strange to do,
But I wanted to do it since
I read it in a book I embraced.
"Ramona" fascinated my
Third-grade mind.
The words caught my eye,
And showed me new things,
To which I was blind.
I watched her squeeze minty paste
All around the bathroom.
It looked like much fun encased
In sinister punishment,
To end in certain doom.
But since I'll be doomed anyways,
I'll take a chance and have my fun.
Painting the bathroom in a glaze,
Of minty freshness so overpowering,
The bathroom will have to be redone!
Author notes
Yes, I really did love the Ramona books, and I really do want to squeeze out a full tube of toothpaste! Doesn't it sound like fun? Maybe I'll do that when I go to college...hopefully nobody'll mind TOO much!

Oh, i used to love Ramona too! i just remembered about them after reading this poem! i liked the one where she got a load of burrs stuck in her hair and her dad had to pull them out! lol
well, aside from bringing back some wonderful childhood memories for me, this piece was really charming. it made me want to grab some myself and squeeze away! you have a very infectious sense of humour indeed! great piece! -
Hahaha, it actually does sound like fun!!! I was a bit confused in the beginning cause the first stanza seemed kinda dark for the smiley faces, at least I understood by the end cause it put a smile of my face.
