A Native Soul—Surreal

Breath slow and deep
Let it calmly seep into your soul
…Serene silhouettes succumbing
To a sensational grandeur: the sunrise so
Full of surprise

Crisp and calling, the wispy winds are wailing
An ailing earth is yearning
…A spirited native’s learning
Has been inspired by her earning
Degrees of depth—she’s cared

Raspy calls she knew
Responding with a view to conjure up hope
…Destined to lead a pack
She has the inclination of reaching back
Teaching has been her forte

A heroic, hypnotic, howling in the wild
Of a golden-voice casts echoes
…Rebounding off the sky
Healing hands, realizing a role
So lightly-footed in her soles

Full of praise for thy fellow being
With wisdom rarely seen
…Raising others from the muck and mire
Like a breath of fresh air—with her light brown hair
Her authenticity you can feel—her honesty SO REAL

I find with this piece it is of how ones spirits passed down through geberations shows itself through a soul upon this eaarth to carry on the teachings of the true life the life of love and the strength we all could share if we looked from the eyes of our elders and their teachings .This is a profound write of ones spirite and love

Hello stories...very nice catching up with you. I hope you're doing well. Thank you so much for your graciousness and time you took reading and responding to this. As you probably noticed, it was posted in a contest dedicated to CarolDesjarlais (who at the time, was using the screen name "shewolf native"). I didn't know her but thought if I read some of her work and any accompanied comments, then I'd get a 'feel' for her enough to write something meaningful. So, this is the results. Naturally, your wonderful words are quite satisfying to read/hear.

Sorry I missed this comment earlier. I really appreciate your visits and kindness. Hmmm, dug into my archives and pulled this one up, huh? (smiling); I almost forgot about this (one of the earliest postings I did here). Thank you very much for your time and generous feedback. I happy about how this affected you.

this piece is TERRRRRRRRRRRiiiiifffffiCCC!!! WOW!!! You keep improving. I'm beginning to think you've been saving these skills for this genre in life! This seems to be aiming at a few people, however i'll wait for the verdict on that one!!!?...lol
"Her earning degrees of depth..."...lol...nice line!

      Wise wordz sir...

Thanks for the compliments. This was an entry in one of the few contests that I've entered on this site (or at all for that matter...lol). It was a challenge writing for someone I don't know (but I have read a lot of her work..."shewolfnative" that is). On the other side of things, it's like how life can be, just thinking about some of the excellent qualities in others can produce real positive results from each of us. So, this is what this poem is really about. I hope you don't like it any less (any yeah, I thought of some people too in the course of laying out my guts).

      I'd be honored...

Thank you for your feedback. And your welcome for your sentiments. The pleasure was actually mind. I was pensive about this and then gave it a shot. I'm glad it landed in a good place (your heart, huh?). You have my permission for your domain site.

    Thank you...

I appreciate your kind words. People deserving of thanks and appreciation get their due (sooner or later). I have recently read a number of her poems before my own submission (above). And while I didn't know very much about her prior to entering the contest, I believe I now have a healthy admiration for how she has positively impacted the lives of others. And for this, it was a worthy enough motivation for me to 'weigh-in'. I thank you also for your well-wishes.

I believe you wrote a wonderful tribute to this very special woman. I admire her and her caring ways ans probably unbeknownst to her , I have learned a lot by reading some of her writes/and or comments left to her by others. People like her are a rarity nowadays and all of us that have had the pleasure to interact with her have been blessed indeed. Best wishes in this contest...I know it will bring a tear to her heart and soul ...a happy one

Yes, you've touched upon her sacred ways of nurturing us all, my Friend...She hears the whispers on the wind & understands the wisdom of accepting the call...Well done, Poet...She will admire your words while humbly embracing them...Thank you for entering...Good luck in the contest... Wanda

I'll need it...I've seen the competition...

Thanks for the opportunity to enter. Thanks for your feedback for someone who has obviously touched so many...I'm most likely just at the edge of realizing even a tiny part of her value and depth. She's really very good and generous...I hear the "call of the wild" - that part of me who loves nature so much. Shewolfnative is deserving of more (I'm sure).
