Friendship needs no lavish praises
Friendship doesn't understand
Distance or miles
Friendship needs no studied phrases~
Friendship cheers the tired and weary
Makes a shy one feel brave
Always fulfilling its mission
And helps pass the lonely days~
You give my day some small delight
A simple joy to cheer my soul
No matter how far, or heavy the load
Sweet as the journey you bring me
On friendships road~
Friendship
Pure unselfish friendship
Taking time for a visit or two
It's a pleasure to walk
Friendships path with you~
I will share
A cheerful smile
And extend a helping hand
In need
For it makes our friendship
More worthwhile
Kind words and thoughtful deeds~
And even though we are
Miles and miles apart
Always in you I will find
A warm understanding heart~

Has been there with me from the beginning here at AllPoetry
She always takes time to send me e mails, cards ,snail mail,
Gifts, trinkets you name it, etc
She has sent me things when I was down to make me laugh
She is like a sister here that I have never had
And since her birthday has came and went I thought I would write this and surprise her*wink*
Oh sure we don't always see I to eye on things but that is what friends are for
All of you here on ALLPoetry I consider friends and sisters
But Maureen has been there through my tears, my hurt and my laughter and her many cards through the mail and her unwavering support mean so much to me.. You just don't realize how much you mean to me Maureen:)
So I hope I have made your day sis

Know you are loved, and thank you for all that you do & being a special part of my life

That was absolutely wonderful. You made me miss my best friend Jenna. We hardly ever get to see eachother anymore and it's killing me. You have such a beautiful way with words. And how sweet of you to write this for a friend's birthday. I'm sure she was touched beyond words. Great poem.

Aww so sweet! (Of course I'll come visit you! What are "sisters" for? ;)) "Sweet as the journey you bring me on friendships road" I absolutely adore that line (that came out weird hehe), makes me think of a branch off the path of life. Friends are definitely a part of life (or lack there of), and you're lucky to have such a good one here. Keep writing!

so beautiful, and i loved the comparison friendship as a road cuz really, that IS what it is...a road, with lots of forks and it leads you many different places and on it you see so many things

Nice poem, great for inside a greeting card that looks like the photo you posted. Makes me a bit frustrated though, because of a recent fight with a friend, looking at your poem I read what friendship should be, then compare with what I have, and that gets me sad. The feeling you had when you wrote that poem, thats what I want for my next birthday.

Awwww, Susan, this is so beautiful and such a treasured gift to give our dear Maureen. She is definitely one of a kind. When our lives are so full of hustle and bustle and we can't always find that one moment to jot down a few words of comfort to our friends, SHE somehow always finds the time...I think she must be getting 30 hr days when the rest of us only get 24 LOL She is an absolute delight and so deserving of such a glorious tribute!!!!! Your words come straight from the heart and describe exactly what true friendship is really all about!!!

Hi Susan this is a lovely tribute to a great lady. I too consider Maureen a friend. I would also like to take the time to wish her a belated Happy Birthday. If I had known it was coming I maybe coudl have baked a cake, but who would have helped me eat it? This really is a good thing that you did here for Maureen. WOW Susan, what a beautiful heartfelt honest emotions piece on TRUE friendship. So very Happy YOU have with Maureen what I've found in Sherry and ALL of U! I see by your picture, 1st. I've seen what a beauty U R inside and outside,too! Thank You 4 being so patient, as I haven't read much, lately. Cherishing```` each moment with Sherry! She returns to Ky. on 5th., but plans r made 4 her to return to OUR home in the fall---- Oct or Nov. I'll catch up on all my reading then.....So very glad U mentioned this piece and I popped in quickly to read this! Felt led by the Lord to Read this one of all your many new pcs. Your backgrounds,style,content, subject matter always humble me, greatly! If, only the fallen natural world could use the same yardstick the Lord uses(Our world would be filled with so much more love and compassion for all beings).....I'm glad u liked the scarlet macaw. I wrote it off the top of my head after Sherry went to shower and Webshots had the macaw as a daily feature picture. We just did see them yesterday!!!! A belated Happy Birthday to Maureen,also. Nice evening mosquitos not buzzing! Off to join Sherry in my iron Loveseat Swing in the frontyard. Enjoy the songbird concert and admire my summer flowers.
