Tree

Tangled branches in a mess of nothingness
Inside, something special exists

These roots go on for ever
Something we should learn to treasure

Bared of leaves
More than the eye percieves

I feel as if I'm about to cry
The beauty is so overwhelming

This is a wonderful metaphor...at least I took it to be that way. The tree being a person, the roots being the actual essence of self and the part that is most important as the leaves are superficial. So this, to me speaks of not just looking at the outside shell of a person....look more deeply and see them for their substance. Really love this one!!!

I like this Hannah. You have described a leafless tree beautifully. One point, Barred of leaves, I think should read...bared, one 'r'.
    A good poem...Sue
