I am not aware why I came here
Or where I was before
If there was a before
I only know this dark forest
Dense thickness entwining limbs
There is a way through
Yet still I search
I am watched by a million eyes
Coldly unmoved at my unease
Mile after mile I tramp onward
Yet circling always around
I do not lack courage for the task
My need is for a strong guide
A light to remind me I am free
Through the dark a silvern tendril reaches
Seeking the life force within me
It is empathy and recognition
A being equal to myself
Someone I knew before time itself
A voice as pure as the first breeze
Calls out so I sing to her
We know the way, we always knew
As one we are the way, the truth and the life
Separate we falter, together we fly
We draw each other onward
A path unknown to one is known by the other
Until we rise above the trees
And infuse with the universe…

Yes, she is a pool of light. She is an unending source of guidance, inspiration, courage & truth. This is a beautiful tribute to one of my dearest friends. Thank you for honoring her so well by entering this contest. Good luck, Poet.

very good
I enjoyed reading this. In fact, I read through a few times. Each time, more of the picture unfolds.
Thanks
