Her heart felt as heavy,
as the snow laden boughs.
He promised to meet her,
just more broken vows.
He said that he came,
but the snow there is unbroken.
He has never really cared,
his actions have spoken.
Here in the muted beauty,
of this winter wonderland.
She realized she deserves better,
this she now understands.
Mother Nature provided,
what she'd never before seen.
His lies blatantly exposed,
by soft scenery so serene.
Her heart that was so heavy,
feels lighter than before.
With her eyes finally opened,
She'll now be expecting much more.
It is truly amazing,
what a snowfall can do.
Open one's eyes to reality,
and oh what a view.

How can one not love this? The honesty in the words... and the view of life through Nature's eyes... it is so often that we can fall in love and make excuses for others in the hopes that our broken hearts won't cut so deeply into us this time... and yet through your use of rhyme and the most divine imagery, I found peace in words.

Aw! That's really lovely. That's pretty much what I think of when I see that picture... It's such a sweet poem. I like the last verse especially – "...Open one's eyes to reality, / and oh what a view." Great write!
