Don’t raise your voice
Lest it be heard by others
And cause you inconvenience.
If something happens
In your presence
Don’t be a witness.
Asked to depose, say,
“O.K. I was there that day
But I was looking the other way.”
This failing for want of corroboration
There is another solution:
Say, none of the parties
You can recognize.
If still proved otherwise
Your best solution should be
To disclaim your identity.
That is to say,
To say,
“I am not the person you take me to be.”

“O.K. I was there that day
But I was looking the other way.”
I really liked those lines, and as tlsledge has said- this piece is very very thought provoking. Good job and thank you for sharing it with me! -
Thought provoking, to say the least. Well written.

But isn’t this false testimony ...
I think I understand how title fits the content of your work here. In some cases, it’s easier to grit out the ‘inconvenience’ of some situations than rise to the occasion. I find this particularly true in personal matters. Thanks for the message. Warm regards, Sultan
