Had a bad day
And you just wanna slice
All your cares away?
Do you give in to the
Deep dark desires in
The back of your mind
Or fight them back
For one last time?
Do you try to sleep
And hope you can?
Or do you give up
And say this is who I am?
That I am a cutter
And even though it
Hurts to admit
Today was a bad day
I hate to admit
Sometimes I wish it was
Just that easy
But truth is
It aint
So what would you do
If you had a bad day
And needed a fix
Just to get some sleep?
Author notes
2007
So parts of today sucked. Mostly work (at my new job which pretty much rocks) I'm just stressed cuz this one women kept bitching at me the entire time and was riding my ass about everything. (Okay so I mean that in the non gross way...)
GRRRR
Now I need to get to sleep, but I can't cuz I am stressed over that and some family crap. I don't think I will cut tonight...... but I feel better writing this before attempting bed again.
Please tell me what you think

I love the ordinary feel in this poem, sometimes we forget that the greates glamour can be found in the ordinary and you brought that out well.Good work.

not the way to do it
sleeping your life away is not a way to live, and neither is slicing your life away.. what you do is you either go out for a walk to clear your head, take a shower, write or anything else.. just dont take it out on yourself and dont sleep your life away or you might miss something good -
Sorry I've been too busy to check this out... and I'm sorry you were having a bad day... I'm sorry for not being there for you as a friend... that's all different now... I have less to distract me from things... I guess that's a good thing...

i thought this felt really different from the usual cutter poems, in a good way. it made a lot of sense to me and made things clearer in my mind. writing is good for getting stuff out. good poem, thanks for sharing, hope you slept well eventually.

Pray. But if you don't have a religion that could be a problem, or you could call someone, or write a poem like this one.
I know the feeling. Great job with this poem and if you ever need to talk, just message me!
