Rocks

I love collecting rocks. I have rocks of all different shapes and sizes.
They are a comfort to me and give me peace of mind.
When I look at them they let me unwind.
I gather them up when I go out for my daily walks.
I look around on the ground for any good shaped ones,
and then I bring them home, and my wife usually balks.
We don’t need any more rocks in this house, she always says.
But dear, I reply, I need this one for my collection, just one more please.
As I said before I have all sizes and shapes, my favorite ones are the odd shaped smooth ones.
For some reason they give me the most comfort.
In Japan rocks are revered, people have huge rock
Gardens in the back yards, and they spend hours there
just contemplating life.
I would like to have one of those rock gardens one day.

when my sister was little she would come home with her coat weighed down full of rocks. Even pebbles. It just goes to show that the most simple things are the most precious.

Hi ! And I just wwant to thank you so much for you're kind words about my poem. My daughter too used to come home with all kinds of rocks and other stuff in her pockets. When I used to do the laundry a long time ago I used to never be surprised what I found in her pockets.

My daughter too. Whem I used to do the wash whem she was little, I always used to find stones and rocks and all kinds if other stuff in there. Sone of it was pretty scarey. Ha,ha,ha !
