There He was standing there,
Like any other day,
Only it wasn't a normal day,
It was a day of Grief, Pain and Despair,
I didn't understand,
I didn't really care,
No one seemed to notice,
Him standing there,
I tried to tell them,
To yell at them,
But He's standing there,
No one seemed able to listen,
No one seemed to care,
His old checkered shirt,
Crumpled at the seams,
His smile seeping through my being,
Relief sweeping over me,
He was safe from all the Grief, Pain and Despair,
But still no one saw,
And still they didn't care,
Then suddenly as if in a dream,
He smiled and waved his hand,
His image fading into a Forgotten land,
And almost like a dream,
I slowly started to Understand,
He was gone and wasn't coming home,
But at least I knew then,
He came to see me one last time,
And just to say Goodbye.

Beautiful
Then suddenly as if in a dream,
He smiled and waved his hand,
His image fading into a Forgotten land,
And almost like a dream,
I slowly started to Understand,
I love that part.
Thank you so much for sharing!
He came to see me one last time,
And just to say Goodbye.
