Smile curls your lips
as you tell me feelings
that died will not return...
reminding me of all the pain,
breaking my heart to show
how strong you've become...
...So easy it was to move on.
The synergy of two suddenly
distorts the fine balance;
two entities split apart,
both feeling pain and denying,
playing games to score points,
striking out with no reason.
You were given your freedom
by someone who cared...
never forget that gift.
I look at you as all light fades,
and lament the passion that died.
Energy of love dissipates fast;
weakens the hosts forever.

very powerful words using the prompt well. Thank you for your entry and best wishes in the contest.

Wow...
This is powerfully emotive.
Your gift is being a wordsmith (wordsmith-ess?), and a very talented one at that.
Bravo, Poet!
