~~ Sea Love Song~~

Missing image
Was it your kiss that waked the slumbering sea
Touching the cold water
Staining a blush of pink upon the grey
I loved you then in the gentle light of day~

And you were there in the sun-kissed waves
Glittering and rippling on the sparkling sand
Dancing over the wind-tossed sea
With morning dreams of life, love, and immortality~

At noon when the passions raged
In the howling winds and crashing waves
Churning up until we could take no more
Flinging us down on a rock-strewn shore~

In the golden light of afternoon when shadows fall
And colors too bright to comprehend
Whirls the clouds across the skies
Swiftly the sun is gone
And day subsides~

I will love you when the moon hangs silent
Over the restless wine-dark sea
Where a golden sunset shimmers and shines
Lighting a path of love
From here to eternity~

    Beautiful

Wow....!! A Beautiful poem filled with gentle waves and sensual currents that takes the reader into the depths of the sea...down to the seabed! Loved it - and the picture too - Jim Warren is one of my favourite artists and I've used quite a lot of his paintings on my poem page at PostPoems. Beautiful poem that indulges all the senses!!

An amazing piece as always I loved that pasrt so much:

"At noon when the passions raged
In the howling winds and crashing waves
Churning up until we could take no more
Flinging us down on a rock-strewn shore"

    Great job.

oustandingly beautiful, enough of a wistful tone to keep it from being too sugary/sentimental. Sea romances are often wild and passionate, guess it is the influence of the sea - you do it justice - would like you to reconsider the last stanza. I think you can enhance it's force into a stunning mind-blow. You've certainly got the talent!

The words seem to embrace a question with no answer, of an emotion complex and deep. Felt on a level beyond ..in colors seen or love felt, yet expressed only through the verse of the poet....

I am speechless, i cant describe how remarkable this piece is. I loved the lines:
I will love you when the moon hangs silent
    Over the restless wine-dark sea
Where a golden sunset shimmers and shines
    Lighting a path of love
    From here to eternity~
I thought that was great, all of it was great but that stanza took my breath away. Beautiful Susan, as always.

Ah, what a truly beautiful piece of love poetry. It's so rare for a poem to be so beautiful without treading familiar ground, but this had a unique series of images and emotions.

Wonderfully spun, I'm glad I swung by.

    Fabulous

I want to hug you!!!! THIS is a wonderful poem. It is graceful and pulses with poetic shine. The rhythm is impeccable and the rhym does not strain to complete. There is a theme set to word, but it doesn't read like simple story text ...this is where your rhyming accentuates the combination of poem and narrative, and magically transforms this love message into magnificent poetry.

It's an accomplished poem to be very proud of Blushfull Moon, one to treasure as something magical and wonderous, having authored it from the imaginations of ones heart.....it remarks well of all that is within, and still ....more ...there to explore.

    ps. yes...that's it...'classic style' indeed

    Bravo! -Darmok...his head bowed
