Lashing out, you take your anger out on me again
What can I say, I listen as you shout and shout.
There is nothing I can say, you will not listen
You will rant and rave until you have it all out.
I long to know how to help you, yet I cannot,
You have had your say, now you will not speak.
Could be days, before you even utter another word,
And I, I will continue on, as if nothing happened.
It will feel as if the light has gone from my world
As silence encompasses all, no light, no sound,
my heart feels like it will break, I cannot breathe,
I sigh deeply; I must attempt to carry on anyway.
Days later you smile, I smile back hesitantly,
Dark rings under my eyes from unshed tears.
‘Sorry,’ you say, ‘how do you manage to stay?’
‘Why do you tolerate the frustration and anger?’
I look at you, what can I say but ‘I loved you,
so I married you and promised with you to stay.
Through thick and thin, I will be there because,
at the end of the day…. I love you still’.

Depression - Married to a paraplegic and he often feels much depression and frustration.

The power of love
What a beautiful poem. I look at you, what can I say but ‘I loved you,
so I married you and promised with you to stay.
Through thick and thin, I will be there because,
at the end of the day…. I love you still’I loved this bit there's so much emotion in this poem it made me cry.

This is a beautifully written poem, it's hard to explain why i liked it so much, there's just such emotion and you showed really well the despair and yet also strength in love.
