When I beckon, you withdraw
I reach out but you retreat
into shadows of your life
to the web of self deceit.
I can see your sense of shame
but your sins I can redeem,
I can cleanse your erring soul
give you back your self esteem.
For my hand is there to hold
on the path to Paradise
where contrition is exchanged
for the grace that God supplies.
When the voice of conscience pricks
and repentance you appoint,
I will lead you to the flock
and with love I will anoint.
For the waifs and strays I gather
in the bosom of my love
and the welcome home I offer
is a blessing undreamed of.

This is a beautiful write. If we all would only reach out for His own outreached hand, we would all share in the presence of our Savior. I know He is the one I wish to spend forever with. Your gold trophy is well deserved. Keep up the writing. Your friend in Poetry, Mysty Rain

Well penned with thoughtfulness and great rhyme. Comforting and spirit filled. I especially like your final stanza.

Soothing to the soul
This is a beautiful piece about the love of god's mercy and grace and it really soothed my inner being and I definitely thank you for reminding me of god's unconditional love. I wish you the best my friend in your challenge...

This is beautiful and so very true. Why do we withdraw when we are offered such beauty? You put this emotion into words so very well my friend.
Love,
Amera
