Author notes

I think this is my best cinquain ever. It was written under stress but I was thinking of peaceful things

Cinquain
Cinquain is a short, usually unrhymed poem consisting of twenty-two syllables distributed
as 2, 4, 6, 8, 2, in five lines. It was developed by the Imagist poet, Adelaide Crapsey.

One of my favorite things is to find a quiet place, often early in the morning, and just enjoy the birdsong. This is a lovely form, reminding me of the rictameter. You can chain them, can't you? Thanks so much for entering my contest!

I absolutely adore the picture ... and what you say within this piece really is true. I want to eat the line "miniscule troubadour" ... it's so yummy!

    Beautiful

    Mark,
This is a beautiful Cinquain, I love nature poems but your added reference giving God credit and praise only make this poem more special. To God be the glory. This is a work you can be proud of.

I wish I knew enough about cinquains to give a really good in depth comment but unfortunately I don't, suffice to say then that I enjoyed your poem. Val

A beautiful write and presentation. Nearly perfect form. Lovely imagery and flow. Lovely depth of feeling. Very good word choice. Nice alliteration. My only observation is that you should check your syllable count in line 2. It's 5 syllables, it should be 4 syllables. Other than that, this is an exceptional cinquain. Well done.
