Teddy Bear

I walk up behind you,
Wrap my arms around your waist.
I kiss your neck and hear you sigh,
Happy to have me home,
Happy to be in my arms,
Happy to be mine.

I step around the front of you,
Place my hands upon your hips.
I kiss your lips and catch the look,
Surprise and love,
Love for me and our future,
For the kiss on your lips,
The hands on your hips.

We lay down on the couch,
Just flick the TV on.
Not even to watch the show,
But to have an excuse to cuddle,
To cuddle up against each other,
Against the warmth of your back,
The scent of your hair,
Filling my lungs,
Clearing my mind.

I wrap my arms,
Around your waist...

Author notes

This is the best feeling known to mankind; being loved, and knowing you're actually doing something good in life.

A haven in the sense that everything is right, peaceful, perfect.

    It is a wonderful feeling to be loved
    and be able to return that love. It's

    I do agree with you that it is in the nature of man to be loved..to be appreciated...and I do congratulate you for capturing that essence in such a very light, happy, and simple poem...love is overrated nowadays...but you showed what real love is...especially on the third stanza...

    i have to be one to tell you that i agree completely with your statement in your authors that there is truely no better feeling i believe everyone should know or exeprience this kind of love if only just once in thier life time . but i am glad that you are one of the lucky ones as well as myself . thank you for sharing this truely amazing write i loved it

    Being in the military, I am 3000 miles away from my girlfriend. But I still can understand this feeling, and I miss it. Great write, and good luck in the finals.

    This is such a sweetly written piece here!!! You show the depths of your love in such a simple way in this poem. It was a light and airy write, if you will. Nothing heavy or intense but yet revealing volumes of love ind intensity in a simple way!!! The imagery is great leaving the reader to envision every thing written with such ease!!!
