Water For a Child

Coming upon this streamlet
not far from her house,
She is delighted.

“ I am a fish and a toad.
I need no shoes
to wade in its coolness.
But will the leeches sting me?
Will  I get drown?”

She stoops upon the bank,
undecided.

Awww, this is beautiful! You perfectly captured the emotion of this little girl! I love the lines, "I am a fish and a toad/ I need no shoes", because they remind me of the imagination of a child. I also love the way the poem is short, to the point, and shows exactly what this picture is about. A wonderful feeling is contained in this, thank you so much for this!
