Paradise {HM}

Paradise is my home
Panoramic my view
Pleasing, the sights and sounds
Peace felt within my heart
Poignant is its beauty
Prolific the gardens
Pruned daily with His care

Author notes

Pleiades:

This titled form was invented in 1999 by Craig Tigerman, Sol Magazine's Lead Editor. Only one word is allowed in the title followed by a single seven-line stanza. The first word in each line begins with the same letter as the title. Hortensia Anderson, a popular haiku and tanka poet, added her own requirement of restricting the line length to six syllables.

    Nice title. Perfect form. Good flow and tone. Lovely depth of feeling. Good word choice. Nice alliteration. Your last two lines sum up your poem very nicely. Your poem suits the picture for which it was written. Thank you for your entry. Shelley

      Shelley, Thank you for hosting and the honorable mention which is now sitting atop the mantle on my home page. This was my first attempt at a Pleaides and the artwork you chose was wonderful inspiration. I had been looking to try one of these and I saw your contest. I'm very happy that my words spoke to you about the picture. It did the same for me to bring out the words. Love and God bless you, Joyce

    SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL!

    There is so much beauty around us that we take for granted each and every day. If we only believe in the Lord he will help us to see the beauty that is always before our eyes.

      Amera, Thank you for the applauses and your lovely words of praise once again. I haven't seen much of Jim Warren's work, although I will say that this is a beautiful piece. A picture inspired contest it was and these were my thoughts as I felt like I was in paradise. This was my first attempt at a pleiades and I'm very happy that you enjoyed it. Love you my friend, Joyce

      Pam, This was my first attempt at a pleiades and they are interesting. I don't think it would become one of my favorites although it does say a lot with few words. Thank you very much for the applauses and your lovely words of praise you gave to me. They are an inspiration in themselves. Love you my friend, Joyce
