Mr. Prawn

Fishes are many in the water
But none is funnier than this fellow
His beard is long
His moustache is strong
His dress is still stronger
Than the dress of a mailed knight
He has a sword on his forehead
Yet shies all fights
Because he has innumerable feet
And is extremely fond of flight.

This is very cute but I'm afraid some of the terms you've used may be confusing to an 8 year old, perhaps you have another that would be better suited?

I think you are speaking of Spotted Prawns. Sort of a Rhino shaped nose thigamajig. Great poem!

Dear di ivers, Everybody here are very serious and sombre, asking and writing poems on serious themes. How many can do it for sheer fun? Take a count, you will find very few. Having innocent fun lightens our heart and gives a zest to living. Thanks for your appreciation.
