Emptiness Can Mean Different Things

today, I can't hear
my heart-beat;
the sound of pain
has vanished
in to an unknown universe.

today, I don't see
a face
in the moon.

the wind doesn't whisper,
memories don't cry.

the picture of a smile
is no more visible
with closed eyes

but even the world
of open eyes
has dimmed in to a droplet
of rain -
seen, and yet unseen.

tell me...
if you have taken
a piece of my soul
and run far away,
leaving a vacuum
in the middle
of my heart?

or is it now
that I am finally
letting you go

and the growing vacuum
is just memories
evaporating?

    Sad thoughts...
I believe that it'll always hurt, one way or other. Evaporating memories or an empty spot in the heart, will always be feelings replacing love, and that is a painful experience which takes time to fade.
Not seeing a face in the moon, can't think of a more sad imagery.

It's a beautiful poem which expresses that very essence of what I call "after-love," Sau. It's to sense this poem is not only personal to you, but it also touched a personal spot for me and undoubtedly so many others.

    Lovely writing!

The images you have created speak with sadness and pain to me, though they are at the same way very beautiful. This is a very emotional and poetical poem!!

One of my friends mourned the loss of her grief; it had been her companion for several years. You seem to describe such an experience. I love the image of the faceless moon, it speaks of the dimming of painful memory. This is a very relatable poem.
