As I sit and watch the sea,
I feel different.
A change takes place in me.
During the time I'm sitting here,
For only a minute,
I've gained many years...
And suddenly, the world doesn't seem
So mysterious.
I know all of its dreams.
But as I stand, run to the shore,
I change again.
I'm young once more!
Yet, though it's fun to yell and play,
I'd much rather
Lie in the water, simply float away...
The water is so fresh, so cool,
That even though it's salty,
It's like a hidden forest pool.
As I drift, I watch the sky,
Glance at the horizon,
Follow as the sea-birds fly.
But as I watch the graceful flight,
I am one of them!
I have wings, I soar swifty into night.
I skim on the water, I dance in the clouds!
But before I know it,
I'm screaming aloud!
Not screaming, I'm roaring!
A jaguar's cry-
And I'm aware that I'm not longer soaring.
I crawl on my belly, I'm watching my prey,
It stumbles, I pounce!
But before dawn is day...
I'm a fish! A small fish!
In the glorious ocean,
Float up to the sun, make a wish...
Glance of fin, flash of gold-
I hit something hard.
And I see I'm just a goldfish in a bowl.
Then I feel the warm sun,
Melted heat on my arms,
And I know this form is the right one.
I open my eyes, I stretch, I yawn-
While watching the ocean sunset,
I slept until dawn!
I'm an old woman again, it seems-
Sleeping on a bench at the sea,
Young once again, or at least in my dreams.

Another poem written during class! Maybe my best one yet, I know it's one of them at least. Also, while I was writing it, I did feel older, almost... a little wiser maybe. Hooray for the ocean! xD

BEAUTIFUL IMAGERY
This poem definitely inspires me. I have so often sat by the ocean alone and taken a journey of dreams. For it is true the sea can bring many a mystery andmany a dream come true.;-)

The flow was smooth and a great tale of time and youth and change and of other life realms , this was a metaphoric journey through your imagination and subconsciousness..lovely journey full of images you led me on ,,,,in this poem , i could see more poems ,
