Lure Of The Sandman

Crisp leaves scrape across desolate roads
in the unsettling wind
of 4:49am
worn and weary legs
drag onwards
homeward bound
there's no time for rest

a stranger passes and
we stare emptily into each others eyes
unblinking as we cross
and continue
no place for pleasantries
at 4:49am.

Love it!!! I can imagine that is EXACTLY how it feels!!! Well done in expressing the weariness that must be felt after such a long shift and the long walk home!

ah! a write finally from you!!

i can imagine the weariness of that day. you can't be bothered about anything, especially at 4:49 am. it's like you're dragging every millimetre of your aching body in tremendous effort, fighting off gravity and drowsiness with the bit of energy you have left.. it's like even the wind was trying to hurry to its place of rest..

well captured moment. each word here drips with tiredness.
