It is Winter

It is winter time
the coldest time of year.
With the nights freezing over
and all the trees are bare.
There are no birds singing
their cheerful songs.
Winter is grey and cold
I'm so pleased when it's gone.

Jack Frost leaves a trail
weaving cobwebs all around.
His icy fingers work all night
with frost, covering the ground.
His beautiful artwork
can be seen by all.
Until the weather changes
and we have a snow fall.

Better stay inside
as winter brings snow.
so stay  near a warm fire
and watch it glow.
Winter brings christmas
the best part of all.
for all of the children
either big or small.

Sorry this took me so long! I liked the images in the poem, especially Jack Frost. The first two verses were interesting, but the contrast between them and the third really added another dimension to the poem. The one thing that bothered me was the rhythm – sometimes it was there and other times not. Overall, though, nice write.
